Structure for the sculpture atelier

Baseado na técnica de soldagem, pensei numa estrutura feita com várias dobras e intercaladas entre si de modo a estarem dispostas na vertical, abordei esta ideia de maneira a explorar a harmonia entre equilíbrio, peso, estabilidade e forma.
Based on the welding techniques, i thought on a structure made of various bends and interpersed wtih each other so as to be arranged vertically, I approached this idea in order to explore the harmony between balance, weight, stability and form.
Fiz esquissos, procurando maneiras de facilitar a sua construção sem quebrar a sua essência como ideia e objecto, era mais interessante como chegar às junções, como equilibrar o peso de uma peça sobre a outra de modo a ficarem estáveis.
I made sketches, looking for ways to facilitate their construction without breaking their essence as idea and object, it was more interesting how to reach the joints, how to balance the weight of one piece on the other so as to be stable.
Houve vários pontos a focar na construção da estrutura, como é que seria transportada, que espaço ocupa quando montada e desmontada, se valeria a pena soldar os cantos, ou adicionar os olhais, se devia aumentar aos cortes de encaixe para a estrutura não ficar desequilibrada, que acabamento iria levar e como iria levar esse acabamento.

O resultado final deu uma estrutura, construída por seis pares de placas de metal, unidas entre si por olhais, facilitando tanto a sua construção como a sua arrumação e transporte, porque os olhais permitem tanto unir as placas como separa-las, além de fornecem equilíbrio à estrutura e os cortes de encaixe, mantidos na mesma medida, suportam o peso das placas, fornecendo compostura e rigidez.
The final result gave a structure, made up of six pairs of metal plates, joined together by loops, facilitating both their construction and their storage and transport, because the loops allow both joining and separating plates, as well as providing balance to the frame and the fit cuts, held to the same extent, support the weight of the boards, providing composure and stiffness.
Outro resultado, também muito bom, alcançado com a construção da estrutura é o facto de se poder separar/juntar as placas e o facto de que podem ser montadas/desmontadas, proporcionam uma grande versatilidade na criação de outras estruturas.
Com as mesmas placas dá para criar estruturas de formas e tamanhos variados, podem as placas estar deitadas ou em pé, unidas pelos olhais e juntas com placas separadas, e vice-versa.

Another result, also very good, achieved with the construction of the structure is that it is possible to separate / join the plates and the fact that they can be assembled / disassembled, they provide a great versatility in the creation of other structures.
